Where does your water come from?

Our water comes from the crisp clean oceans of  Maine. We take our boats out where the water is deep and pure, and pull the freshest ocean water at an incoming tide, close to the high slack tide. We boat harvest our water ourselves so that we have our eyes on every step of the process! 

I placed an order, when will it arrive?

We ship out orders three times a week. When we are lucky enough to be exceptionally busy (think holidays!) it may take 7-10 days before your order will ship. If you need your order for a particular date, please feel free to email us and we will do our best to accommodate!

Local Friends: if you live near York, Maine and want to save on shipping and pick your order up at the salt yard, just use code “LOCALPICKUP” and we will let you know when your order is ready to come grab!

Please note that our salts are packaged in a shared facility with shellfish and tree nuts. 

My salt is clumping, what should I do?

If your salt feels damp or a bit clumpy, this is totally normal! We never add any anti-caking agents, bleach, or other additives commonly found in your every day salt. Just pop your salt into a glass baking dish and warm it in the oven at the lowest setting for 10-15 minutes! It will dry it right out and it will be good as new. For our flavored salt we recommend a stiff hit with your palm on the side of the jar to loosen it up. A small spoon to get it out of the jar is also very useful!
